This book is the second in a series built around 3 sisters that lost their mom at a young age then separated and shipped off by a cruel and deceitful step father. This particular book tells the story of the youngest sister and she too must stay 2 weeks in an old dilapidated mansion in order to receive her inheritance.
Naturally her journey includes finding love but also a ghost and family secrets. The parts I loved in no particular order: I find this makes characters more relatable. I was pleased to see that they are not only present in this book but one of them "Jane deleon age" plays a pivotal part in solving a mystery.
I love Jane deleon age characters!! The parts I am not in love with: In fact it turns out to be a character that is not really introduced until he is revealed to be the killer. I think it was an easy out Jane deleon age would have packed more of a punch if it would have been someone that we knew more about and actually cared about.
To be honest I'm sure we all saw that coming but to practically wrap it up in the second book of a trilogy is frankly confusing to me.
It does leave me curious to see if and how the third, and final, book will continue that arc since the mystery has been solved.
Maybe that was Jane deleon age point and if so I guess it worked ; With all that said I would definitely recommend this book and in fact would recommend it over the first book.
However you do need to read them in order. I also will be reading the final book.

With the conclusion of this second book, some of the questions are answered, but we still have to find the third sister.
This was a quick read, lots of suspense, and a bit of romance thrown in as well. I think the books can be read as stand alone Jane deleon age, but they make more sense if read in order. You get a much more complete story. Apr 06, Sarah rated it it was amazing.
A solid mystery with a sexy, tender romance and a touch of the paranormal, The Betrayed follows the youngest of the three sisters, Danae, who was only two years old when the girls' evil stepfather sent Jane deleon age away to be raised by distant relatives.
Danae has arrived in Calais under an assumed name, and she feels an instant connection to Alaina, eventually gathering her courage to reveal her identity. Hired by the family attorney to go through the mountains of paperwork kept by the stepfather, Danae A solid mystery with a sexy, tender romance and a touch of the paranormal, The Betrayed follows the youngest of the three sisters, Danae, who was only two years old when the girls' evil stepfather sent them away to be raised by distant relatives.
Hired by the family attorney to go through the mountains of paperwork kept by the stepfather, Danae goes to the mansion to begin her task and hopefully reconnect with her birthplace. Once there she meets Zach, the hunky contractor hired to make repairs, who has secrets of his own linking him to Danae's mother and stepfather. Zach and Danae quickly recognize a strong mutual attraction, at the same time they realize they're not alone in the spooky old mansion.
The Jane deleon age sense of menace pushes Zach and Danae into mutual support mode, as they stay together for protection while trying to get their work done. Pretty soon their individual desires to find answers in the paperwork takes a backseat to staying safe, and the time spent together under pressure electrifies their attraction and their trust in one another.
The romance is sweet and tentative, and completely sexy. The menacing atmosphere and strange events at the mansion, shadowed by the recent attack on Alaina, combine to create a Jane deleon age of intensity that make this the perfect book for reading late into the night, while safely tucked into bed.

Danae and Alaina became friends when they met, now as I recommend this book, a great read. Danae and Alaina became friends when they met, now as sisters they are closer and it's Danae's turn to meet the wills requirements.
There are still strange things happening and the newly hired handyman has a secret of his own. The story is gripping and will keep you guessing to the end. Very good continuation It's sad the childhood Danae had to live through.
Her teenage years aren't detailed at all but you can only imagine. Zach is really good to her. I never suspected who the really person was behind everything that had been happening in the house. There are still some unanswered questions. Jan 10, Danita Minnis rated it really liked it.
This is my first time reading Jana DeLeon and I have started this series out of order. I was drawn to this book by Ms.
Deleon's suspenseful style and for a quick read, The Betrayed definitely delivers. Danae is a believable adopted daughter with mistrust for the world and Zach is quite the hunk, a very sweet couple.
I will be reading the other books in the Mystere Parish series. Sep 02, Melanie rated it it was amazing. "Jane deleon age" 06, Marcella rated it liked it Shelves: Review for all three books in this series: The series plotline was well done, the plot line for each book was a bit contrived at times.
